Overcomplicated
plot but plenty of pyrotechnics and undressing to keep you
mildly amused.

If you
haven't heard of the film you're probably aware of the hype
surrounding female lead Halle Berry.
She apparently
got an extra half a million dollars to bare her breasts.
Shrewd
dealing by the film's producers. It's bound to fill a few
more cinema seats although those keen to see young Berry's
assets had better stay alert. Blink and you'll miss them.

We're earning a fortune |
If Halle
Berry's there to woo the men, then Travolta and Jackman should
satisfy the women.
The Travolta
renaissance continues. Another lead role in another blockbuster.
Jackman is back alongside Berry after their last appearance
together in X-Men.
As to
the film itself, it's directed by Dominic Sena, whose last
outing was Gone in 60 Seconds. That movie had plenty
of car chases and explosions, Swordfish follows the
formula.

Greased
lightning |
It's a
complicated enough plot involving a computer heist, some spies
and Vinnie Jones as a heavy. Nothing new there then.
The film's
piece de resistance is a 360-degree shot of an explosion,
so good it's shown twice. Let's not say repeat, how about
another chance to see!
This is
your typical Hollywood big bang blockbuster. Those behind
Swordfish must hope it does well in its opening weeks
because in all probability it'll be swallowed up come the
release of Final Fantasy and Planet of the Apes.
