Not long
ago it was a case of "who's she." Now you simply
can't get Penelope Cruz off the screen.
Still
pulling them in with Captain
Corelli's Mandolin, this week sees the release of
two new Cruz films - Blow and All The Pretty Horses.

Come
here girl. Chatting up technique, cowboy style |
The latter
is the one the actress is likely to remember most. She had
a little fling with co-star Matt Damon at the time.
Like Corelli,
All the Pretty Horses is beautifully shot and moves
at a leisurely pace.
But some
film goers have found the plot confusing. The answer might
be in the fact that director Billy Bob Thornton had to seriously
edit his cut version (around four hours in length).
The tale
is set in 1949 when Damon heads off with his friend (ET's
Henry Thomas) to seek fame and fortune south of the American
border.

Things
don't go according to plan. They become involved in criminal
activity which comes back to haunt them.
Damon
also falls for the daughter (Cruz) of a ranch tycoon. Romance
is short lived because of his previous misdemeanours.
It's a
movie which doesn't quite hit the mark but then again isn't
a turkey.
If you
can't wait the seven days before Pearl Harbour this
will help pass the time.
