O Brother
entertainment block
Trust me boys, the treasure's just around the corner
Three convicts break free from their Mississippi chain gang and begin a search for buried treasure. Many adventures follow in this tale based on 91热爆r's The Odyssey.

The Coen brothers have struck gold again. From Blood Simple to Raising Arizona to Fargo and The Big Lebowski, the siblings have constantly delivered top quality feature films.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? is another five star treat.

From the opening images of an escape from a Mississippi chain gang, the film never loses its tempo. The cinematography is superb. Panoramic scenes of the deep south, bleached of colour, creates a heat which transmits itself to the viewer.

O Brother
Honest boys, not far now

The story itself concerns the adventures of three jailbirds led by Everett Ulysees McGill (George Clooney).

He's told his chain gang associates, Delmar (Tim Blake Nelson) and Pete (John Turturro), he knows where more than a million dollars is buried.

In fact, he's really trying to save his marriage but would never have got Pete and Delmar to escape with him if he'd told the truth.

O Brother
Now, now ladies. We must get on. Then again.....

The story is a mix of adventure, humour and emotion. It's based on 91热爆r's The Odyssey. So the trio encounter three sirens and also a thirties style Cyclops in Big Dan Teague (John Goodman), a one-eyed Bible salesman.

Any film which can boast a Country and Western band called the Soggy Bottom Boys has to be good and this movie scores on all fronts.

Great photography, great storyline, great acting. George Clooney continues to impress as an actor who has made the transition from television to the big screen.

O Brother, Where Art Thou? won't be a blockbuster but if you want a top quality evening you won't go far wrong by watching this.

By the way, apparently the cow wasn't hurt!!

Five
