Beware
Disney, DreamWorks is after your animation crown.
The
powers that be have discovered family films are back in
fashion. That's good news for lovers of full length cartoon
features.
The
Road to El Dorado follows the fortunes of two con men,
Miguel and Tulio, who are forced to stow away on a ship
to escape an angry mob.
Various
adventures later they arrive at the mythical city of El
Dorado, the city of gold. Even better for our heroes,
they are mistaken for Gods.

Time
for a song, where's Elton John? |
Good
animation, star name voices (half the fun is trying to
decide who the actor is speaking the part) and songs by
the two Sirs - Elton John and Tim Rice.
Actually,
this is where the film falls down. The pair may have been
on Oscar winning form when they wrote "Circle of
Life" and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight"
for the Lion King but in El Dorado the magic seems to
have deserted them.
A
minor quibble. There is enough excitement to stop your
children constantly asking if they can have another drink
or go to the toilet...again!
