When
a serial killer begins slaughtering virgins at the "Cherry
Falls" High School, the students run riot trying to have
sex and protect themselves - in that order. As the terror
mounts, as much as it does anyway, clues point to the
obligatory terrible secret.
With
a title as subtle as "Cherry Falls" - 'popping your cherry'
is an American expression but it's thoughtfully spelt
out for us. There is a great deal of humour and there
are also very many laughs, it's just that the one doesn't
always cause the other. Some moments clearly meant to
be funny just slide past without a chuckle while just
occasionally you may even guffaw at the silliness.
Poor
moments aside, it's not a bad film and you do want to
know what happens next, even if you guessed an hour ago.
Horror fans will find nothing new here but if you're squeamish,
you'll find this easier to take than you expect - once
you get passed the very ominous sound effects of knives
on steel and ripping noises.
