Children In NeedYou are in: North Yorkshire > Children In Need > Pudsey's pounds Pudsey's poundsEvery year 91热爆 Children in Need raises millions of pounds and every penny is awarded in grants varying from thousands to just a few pounds. Two North Yorkshire projects received grants last year, find out about them and how you can apply for a grant. From the very first 91热爆 Children in Need on radio in 1927, money raised has been used to help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. Last year's appeal raised over 拢33 million and every penny of this goes to projects helping those disadvantaged youngsters. The charity operates all year round, and because of the size and scale of the 91热爆 Children in Need appeal, they are able to help hundreds of different organisations, some of which are very small and don't have the resources to fundraise for themselves. Thirsk Clock receive their grant. In 2006 two projects in North Yorkshire benefited from 91热爆 Children in Need Grants. The Clock in Thirsk is a youth work charity and they received a grant of 拢112,569 spread over 3 years. The money covers the salary of a full time personal adviser and ongoing running costs and activities. Hob Moor Fun Club receive their grant. Hob Moor Fun Club is an after school club operating from Hob Moor Children's Centre in York. They received a grant of 拢15,088 from 91热爆 Children In Need to employ additional playworkers to support children with special needs, so they can attend the club. The money raised every year by 91热爆 Children in Need is there to be used, you just have to apply for it! Thirsk Clock and Hob Moor Fun Club both applied and look what they're doing now...
