North Yorkshire 91热爆 Blast Reporter

Rachel with Daryl Palumbo

Blast Art Reporter 2007

Hi, my name's Rachel from York, and I'll be reporting on all the best music and arts events in North Yorkshire this summer!

I'm absolutely music-obsessed, and known for having about a hundred favourite bands! I'm constantly looking out for new acts and bands, and the best place to find these is often on the local scene. I can be found attending gigs regularly in the city, and constantly finding new favourites to add to my list!

My Passion!

My main spending extravagance is concert tickets - I try and experience live music once a week, whether it be seeing a huge band on their arena tour, or my brother's band playing locally. My second passion is writing - I write anything and everything, from haiku's and song-lyrics, to reviews and journal entries in my three diaries!

Aside from music though, I love fashion design, both sketching ideas and creating them, burlesque and pin-up modelling, music promotion, film-making, photography and image manipulation editing, advertising and marketing, and reading Chuck Palahniuk!

Loves and Hates

Random loves: Underground record labels, travelling on trains, The Cockpit in Leeds, playing bass guitar, sandwiches, band t-shirts, independent magazines, fashion photography, my anchor necklace, coffee.

Random hates: Bands being bottled, meat, being late for everything, Oliver the monkey.

Blast Time!

After studying media at school, I've been really keen to learn more about journalism, and how to be a communicator of the masses. I like the responsibility, the pressure, the time constraints, but most of all I like the opportunities. It's taken me just over two years of fully-packed experience to learn that this is what I love.

Now comes 91热爆 Blast reporting! I'm very excited and whole-heartedly throwing myself into my new role this summer, and can't wait to get out there and report on what North Yorkshire has to offer. For me, Blast is a chance to make friends and influence people - and have fun along the way!
