Diary 2: The One With The Mud

I'm not usually an outdoors festival girl, but live music is worth it everytime, and I was glad to find this definitely true of the Moor Music Festival.

This week I'd worked 30 hours at my job, written reviews for publishing, been clubbing the night away with mates, had meetings with a film director, been a theatre critic for 91热爆 Blast, and now found myself alone on a train with a lot of expensive equipment heading to a place I'd only just discovered existed. This was the beginning of my time at the Moor Music Festival in Ilkley, West Yorkshire.

The line-up was amazing for a non-corporate, small festival, making for some really intimate performances and great opportunities to meet and interview some great talented bands.

My highlight was interviewing Sky Larkin in their tour van - this was my second time seeing the band live, and they didn't disappoint. Truly original music, beautifully performed, and they gave a fantastic interview too.

Yell Yeah!

As well as watching the bands I loved, I also got to discover some incredible local talents. Two words - Rebel Yell. These guys were amazing to watch and a pleasure to interview - genuine talents with an awesome sound, and lovely guys too who really appreciate their fans. That's what music should be about.

Being Summer in Yorkshire, it of course had to rain, making for lots of mud and a great display of brightly coloured wellies. The weather didn't put a dampener at all on the Moor Music Festival, with it being an awesome few days of live music and great company.

You can view my slide show of photos from the festival by following the link above, or listen to my interviews on 91热爆 Radio York's More Raw show on Thursdays 7-10pm.
