I've said it before and I'll say it again
To gain peoples attention and make myself plain
I admire shop owners who give this matter thought
When naming their premises have for a clever name sought
Now in a previous poem I've mentioned SHEAR BLISS
And other hairdressers so I'll give these a miss
Instead I've looked around so to you I can tell
Belfasts Cregagh Road laundrette is called THE WASHING WELL

It had also a pound shop it was called the QUIDS
INN
And an electrics shop WIRED UP both now closed it's a sin
Also closed Finaghy's video shop called FLICKS AND FLUTTERS
Whose patrons were all probaby cinematography nutters

I like Omagh Towns Chip Shop called SPLASH IN
THE PAN
Newtownards has Bill and Ben the TV AERIAL MEN
Or Glengormleys Furniture store called BED E BUYS
But are these people clever are they really wise

There's snookers HOT SHOTS on Belfast's Newtownards
Road
And the CENTRE SPOT has a Castlereagh Road abode
CRAVITY CORNER is a dentists in Belfast whilst further south
In Downpatrick there's one called DOWNE IN THE MOUTH

A beauty parlour in Bangor is called FACE FACTS
With a name like that it could get up peoples backs
Then again you might just be over the moon
If you go to Belfasts HIGH FLYERS and buy a balloon

When in Belfast if you want to treat your kith
and kin
You will always be welcomed at the MON INN
But if you fancy a meal in Killinchy at DAFT EDDYS
You can always do this provided you have the readies

Maybe to you dining out this does not appeal
And you really don't want a full blown meal
But having a hunger problem try Bloomfield Avenues SCOFFS
Or maybe Saintfield Roads FILLERS up amoungst all the toffs

If you're a crooner and think you're a Bing
And have the silly notion that you can sing
It's only a simple matter of lifting the phone
There's this music shop HOWLERS KARAOKE in Portglenone

But If you're only interested in pampering your
pet
It seems the crazier you are the more crazy names get
WINGS AND THINGS in Belfast this does appeal
Or PAWS AND CLAWS in Dundonald also there's one in Kilkeel

Limavady has a pet service called NAILS AND TAILS
Randalstown has PAWS 2 WASH when pets go off the rails
You'll find CREATURE COMFORTS in Ballymena and Magherafelt
And Newtownards GLOW WALKIES supply a reflective belt

But if you have dirty pet you can always get your
man
He'll come from Comber in the MUCKY MUTTS VAN
And if a pooch drinks too much and is out like a log
In Larne they wake it and give it a HAIR OFF THE DOG

There's a locksmith in Belfast called SAFE SOLUTIONS
As for washroom services where you do your ablutions
One firm has a name which is really racey
It provides condoms it's called JUST N CASEY
