Our Car
By Maggie Walker
Ìý
We bought it from a showroom, It took just half
an hour, To look around the forecourt, And pick our lovely car.
Ìý
It had electric windows, The steering felt so
light, The seats were nice to sit in, And the colour was just
right.
Ìý
It was such a pleasure to drive it, Our lovely
family car, With loads of room inside the boot, It even had
a toe-bar.
Ìý
Some person smashed into its door, And made a
horrible dent, Which took some time to get it fixed, Cause the
metal was so bent.
Ìý
Soon it began to make a noise, And then it made
a rattle, the drive shaft needed to be replaced, Which give
us such a battle.
Ìý
With tyres replaced and new brakes too, It run
and sounded better, It cost us lots of money, So we wrote the
bank a letter.
Ìý
Our lovely family car we bought, Dont know if
I should be tellin, Has often made me start to think, Perhaps
we bought a lemon.
