They've announced the most ambitious tourism project Belfast has seen in many years… The Titanic-themed tourist attraction and a rapid transit transport system will be part of a 250 million pounds investment. Paul McFadden asked if it would benefit people West of the Bann.

YOUR COMMENTS ON PAUL'S SHOW:

Everything goes to Belfast. Our local politicians are a joke - and that goes for ALL the parties. Ask Mark Durkan, Martin McGuinness and Gregory Campbell what have they done or are doing for Derry? It'll take as long for us to get a motorway, as it took them to build the Skeoge Road...We had to jump up and down for that and it still took 20 years. . The politicians are a DISGRACE.
Ìý
The Derry people are hard workers and yet they are getting it beat up them from Belfast.
Ìý
When Martina Anderson started the Derry campaign back in January, she was lambasted and criticised and yet kept hard at it this past year. Unless people come out and support her, nothing will ever change here. We will ALWAYS be Belfast's poor cousin.
Ìý
We have 6 MLAs in Foyle - one of whom is deputy first minister - and they are useless in terms of just about everything. I havent seen the Assembley do anything for the North West - we should get rid of the MLAS - they're a waste of time.
Ìý
It used to be a Protestant parliament for a Protestant people. Now we have Sinn Fein and the others at Stormont, but they're not willing to open their mouths. The DUP managed to squash the Maze project and now money's being poured into windsor park. All we're going to get for Derry is parking in our own streets.
Ìý
Could you get all the MLAs on the show and see if they can justify themesleves ...Can they state what they are backing? We need to call them to account.
Ìý
The motorway is a thorn in my side. I remember years ago as a child seeing the picture of Ernest Marples coming to cut the first sod for the motorway. My father said at the time that road 'll go to Coleraine but never to Derry. Everything goes to Belfast . I thought Conor Murphy might have made a difference but we still have a second rate road and a second rate university.
Ìý
Local Sinn Fein MLAs should be ashamed to be supporting the Titanic project , while their own town gets nothing . What about the Fort George site, still lying empty ?
Ìý
Sinn Fein, who are in government, need to get the finger out. The Executive has done nothing for the North-west. We need investment in Ebrington, Strand Road and the Brandywell Stadium. Our two ministers from here are doing nothing for the City.
Ìý
The difference between Derry and Belfast is that the bodies in Belfast are bringing forward imaginative projects for consideration. Ilex has yet to bring forward any proposals for Fort George or Ebrington that can be considered by the Executive. It's not the MLAs' fault.
Ìý
It doesnt matter what politicians you talk to on the programme. They are just wasting air time.
Ìý
Teresa says we are still second class citizens here in Derry and west of the Bann generally.
Ìý
Kevin, taxi man, says rename the six counties as "Belfast" , so we ALL belong to Belfast ...maybe they'll spread out the jobs a bit then.
Ìý
Jim rings - I heard someone complaining about Sinn Fein being on the show. Well, I'd love to see ALL the parties on to explain how the 600 jobs in the Titanic quarter will benefit the North West - we should have SF and the SDLP on every day and challenge them until something actually happens. They need to listen to the people here, instead of chatting up at Stormont.
Ìý
We are talking about the deprivation of West of the Bann again. The ministers for West of the Bann should hang their heads in shame. We are cut off as if we are nothing.
Ìý
Disgruntled Pensioner at Waterside - In the past, Paul has told the people of Derry to go out and give the MLA's a hug. I wonder does he still think that today?
--
Deirdre from Creggan - have the listeners forgotten that Martina Anderson spearheaded the Stand Up for Derry campaign, but she got no support from the people of Derry.
Ìý
Woman says we're getting what we voted for, when we voted two extreme parties into power. We get what we deserve. Derry might be a great city but it's is a city of extremists and losers. As a former Prime Minister said, we're spongers.
Ìý
The Titanic Quarter? Where do they think they're gonna get the tourists from? It'll be a white elephant.
Ìý
Sinn Fein's Stand Up For Derry campaign is nothing but a con job. Sinn Fein are in government.
Why do they need to protest against themselves? They just need to start making decisions.
Ìý
It doesn't matter whether it's a dual carriageway or a motorway to Belfast, as long as we get something to bring us to the Belfast airports quicker. Then we can close the City of Derry airport and put the money that the City Council's spending on it back into our economy.
Ìý
On the stand up for Derry campaign: Sinn Fein organised two buses to go to Stormont. The SDLP didn't promote it and took no one up there.
Ìý
People are going on about Martina Anderson and her Derry project . She is part of the problem. Her own people have thwarted her. It's her own people who have let her down. Once our people go to Stormont, they arent interested in bringing the work or government departments to Derry.
Ìý
As a Belfast resident, I want to thank people West of the Bann for their £70million contribution - through the forthcoming water charges - to Belfast's two new projects.
