NEW WORDS

The very matchy-matchy Anita Robinson is disappointed in cheeseball, Enda McClafferty, who she'd been hoping was a bit more of a coolhunter. She uses all her soft skills on her first encounter with the 2,000 new words and phrases included in the new edition of the Oxford Dictionary of English. Her advice? Chillax. Don't be a fussbudget.



Some of the new words:

wardrobe malfunction: exposing an intimate part of one's body after clothing slips;

chill pill: a notional pill to make someone feel calmer;

bromance: a close but non-sexual relationship between two men;

LBD (little black dress). a simple evening or cocktail dress that, "should be part of every womans wardrobe"

frenemy: a person that one is friendly with despite a basic dislike;

tweetup: a meeting arranged through Twitter;

cheeseball: a person lacking taste or style;

turducken: roast dish consisting of a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey;

paywall: device which restricts website access to subscribers;

microblogging: posting short entries on a blog;

deleveraging: reducing debt by quickly selling assets;

staycation: a holiday spent in your home country.
