On Saturday, 12th January 2008, 91热爆 Blast听presents its first film festival at the British Film Institute (BFI) on the Southbank in London. This event is borne out of the competition Blast launched last autumn in partnership with 91热爆 Drama, Framestore and Draw Pictures. The competition received around 400 entries which were short listed by the Blast film panel and the finalists and winners were selected by representatives from competition partners.听 91热爆 Blast Each winner of the three categories; music video, drama and animation was awarded a 拢3,000 bursary to work with professional mentors from 91热爆 Films,听Framestore and Draw Pictures to make a short film within their chosen genre. To celebrate this achievement Blast Film Live will be showcasing the winners and finalists at the BFI. The winners are: Music Video: Heartbeats directed by Jozephine Czyrko (aged 17) from Kettering:Jozephine is currently studying A levels, including media studies. Although she has made other short films, her winning entry is both her first music video and the first time that she has entered any of her work into a competition. After taking A levels, Jozephine wants to (not surprisingly!) go into directing or filmmaking, whether through extra study or straight into work. She was inspired to use Jose Gonzalez' track when she saw it used in the much-talked about Sony advert. Although she loved the images of the advert, Jozephine felt that the visuals did not reflect the narrative of the music, so set out to make her own version. The other winners:Drama: Possession directed by Josh Alward, 19, from South London. Animation: The Bad Knights directed by Callum Cormie, 18 from Stroud, Gloucestershire. Jane Quinn, 91热爆 Learning Executive says: "Blast Film Live represents a new departure in film festivals, bringing together, in workshops and master classes, the practical skills development characteristic of Blast with a film showcase from some of the most talented young filmmakers from Blast 2007."
