One day when I came home from school I noticed as I walked past the wall That through the window I could see A grand piano waiting for me I ran inside and touched a key The tone so clear I filled with glee I touched another, then one more But stopped as I heard a knock at the door I said to myself who on Earth could this be Why would someone come and visit me?
I opened the door and in front of me stood A little old lady wearing a hood She said "Ah young lady you must be The girl who shall be taught by me I can teach you how to play And be a fine pianist one day This note is middle C Now play D, E, F and G My word young girl you learn so fast Though I'm not sure your pace will last"
So when my piano teacher left I went and had my tea But first I touched another key Now piano tunes fill every day The pressures of life just fade away I'm ever so glad I learnt to play Unlike my neighbours, not yet anyway.
