Chapter 1 - The Ice Kingdom

Once there was a young Prince called Liam.听He lived in a castle with his father.听It was a snowy day, and Liam asked his father if he could go out to play.听His father said it was ok.听He went out into their enormous garden, and stepped on something, he looked down, it was an icicle shaped like a lightning bolt. Suddenly it started to vibrate, then ZOOM he flew over mountains, rivers, lakes, seas and oceans.

As suddenly as it started, it stopped. He looked around to see where he was, it looked like a normal winter land, but it was ice not snow.

Everything was ice. He looked down to see there was a clear inch of ice beneath him with flowers crushed beneath that. He walked around for a little while and saw an igloo made of ice.听He walked up to it and rapped the side smartly with his knuckles. An old man came out, he was wearing a red robe and had a gold amulet around his neck.

"Who are you?" said the man in a gruff voice. "I am Liam Prince of England" said Liam. "Oh" said the man, "this is my kingdom".
"Why is everything ice?" asked Liam.

The king opened his mouth to speak but his words were muffled by a loud roar and scream.
"What was that?" asked Liam apprehensively.
"AHH" the king sighed, "that is the princess, she has been captured by the ice dragon.
"Ice dragon?" asked Liam curiously.
"Basically it's just a normal dragon but it's made of ice" replied the king. "What does a normal dragon look like?" asked Liam.
"Don't tell me you've never seen a dragon?" said the king.听
"No, never" replied Liam. "Terrible beasts, terrible beasts" said the king shaking his head.
"Why hasn't anyone tried to save the princess?" asked Liam. "Oh don't think that no one hasn't, over a hundred men have tried but none have returned" the king replied saddly.

"I will go and save her" said Liam bravely. "You will?" said the king delightedly, but you will need the fire sword" "the fire sword?" repeated Liam. "Yes it's a sword that looks like fire, it's hidden in the ice tower, the only thing that has not been frozen for miles around."

"I will find the sword and slay the beast" said Liam, and with that he ran off into the distance.

Chapter 2 - The fire sword

He walked for hours before he saw the tower.听It was a great castle with oak front doors.听He slowly creaked open the doors and there he saw the fire word.听It was embedded in a large ruby.听He grabbed the sword with both hands and it broke free. Shards of ruby scattered all over the floor of the fire tower as he ran off towards the ice tower. He slowly opened the door. It was a terrible sight, the dragon had thick sharp pointy horns and teeth the size of bread knives. It stretched out its long spiky wings and gave an almighty roar.

Liam bravely held the sword in front of him and charged towards the beast, he thrust the sword into the dragons heart and watched as it melted.

He ran up the slippery staircase and found a door, he pulled it open. There was a woman inside, she was wearing a pink dress and had on a purple pointed hat with gold an silver ribbons draped from it.

"You have come to rescue me" said the princess in a high voice.
"Yes, but we have to leave now" said Liam, and even as he spoke the ice began to melt. They ran down the stairs and out of the doors.

They ran towards the igloo where the king sat waiting.
"You have saved the princess" said the king.
"Yes she is safe now" replied Liam, and with those words he stepped back on the lightening shaped icicle and shot off back home.

"Where have you听been?" asked his father with relief when he saw Liam.
"It's a long story," smiled Liam. "I'll tell you when we get inside."
