Blakeney is located on the North Norfolk Coast, just north of the small market town of Holt. This part of the coastline has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The marshes and wide open spaces around Blakeney make it a haven for migratory birds and wildlife.

This webcam is situated on the White Horse Hotel at the bottom of Blakeney High Street and shows the view looking out at Blakeney cut.

You can see The Watch House on the horizon, an old Coastguard lookout. You can walk out to this from Cley. It's about another 1½ miles out to the point making for a good walk. This is easiest at low tide walking on the firmer wet sand.

Occasionally when there is a high tide and an onshore wind the sea covers all the marsh, car park and quay, and starts to inundate Westgate Street and the High Street.

In the summer you can see the dinghies sailing from about 1½ hours before high tide. You can follow the channel out into The Pit which gives good sheltered sailing. From there it's possible to sail out past Blakeney Point to the open sea, taking care with the wind and tide.

For the slightly less adventurous, Blakeney is also the place to book yourself on one of the regular tourist boat trips to see the seals swimming and lazing on Blakeney Point.
