At 6am on Saturday 28 June, 2003 91Èȱ¬ Radio Norfolk
presented its first show from the 91Èȱ¬'s new multi-million pound
broadcast centre in the heart of Norwich.
91Èȱ¬ Radio Norfolk's station editor David Clayton
is understandably excited about the station's move to The Forum.
"It's rather like getting rid of your
old Morris Traveller and taking the keys of a state-of-the-art Aston
Martin," he said.
For the first time, Radio Norfolk, Look East and
the 91Èȱ¬'s Where I Live and News Online teams in Norfolk come together
under one roof.
"We had to move for a number of reasons and
for a while the 91Èȱ¬ had been looking for somewhere to build a headquarters
for all of our local services," explained Mr Clayton.
The project has been ongoing for the last couple
of years and has included the development of a bespoke broadcast
system for the television side of the 91Èȱ¬'s operation in the county.
The staff at 91Èȱ¬ Look East will move from their
Georgian building base in All Saint's Green in Autumn.
Don't miss the 360°
view of Radio Norfolk operations centre.
