The long-running wartime sitcom was filmed in and
around Thetford in Norfolk and many locals appeared as extras.
The Leyland fire engine seen here is one of Bressingham
Steam Museum's vintage vehicles which featured in Dad's Army.
The Austin Eight Tourer which can also be seen
is has been loaned to the museum's Dad's Army Experience and also
appeared in the series.
Visitors to the exhibition can walk around the
Church Hall and vicar's office, Frazer's Workshop & Funeral Directors,
Mainwaring's Swallow Bank, Jones's Butcher shop and other locations
modelled on the popular series.
