The tooth fairy?

This Norfolk Life: The Forgetful Fairy

"I was writing a story about fairies with my friend, but it was miles too long, so I took one of the characters and built a story about her," said 11-year-old Sophie Osborn.

Eva-Lily sat up straight away. She glanced at her tooth pot to see if the tooth fairy had collected her tooth.

There was a strange glow about the pot that wasn't there before. Fairy dust danced about it.

"She must have come!" Eva-Lily thought aloud.

She opened the little pot and there on the paper lay a beautiful pair of wings. Eva-Lily gasped.

She reached out a shaking hand to touch the wings. The wings felt warm and all of a sudden, Lily saw a silhouetted figure striding towards her. It was a fairy, with a big grin.

"Thanks for finding my wings, I'll have them back now. Sorry for the trouble, I'm a little forgetful," said the fairy, vanishing.

And there in the little box lay a beautiful wand!

Story laureate Sue Welfare writes: This story shows a really great start from a budding young talent!
