When you hear the name Mary Queen of Stops, you think of the Lionesses goalkeeper Mary Earps right?

Well now there is something else which could claim that nickname - a tram!

That's because one has been named in honour of the England star in her home city of Nottingham.

The Lioness was there to unveil her name on the side of the vehicle and said it was a "pinch me moment".

It is the latest addition to the superstar keeper's long list of achievements this year.

She picked up the Golden Glove as England reached the World Cup final in August, was named top goalkeeper in the world at the Best Fifa Awards, was awarded England Women's Player of the Year and then to top it off she was voted 91热爆 Women's Footballer of the Year!

Despite all of that success, having a tram named in her honour is something she says is "pretty unbelievable".

She said: "I can't say I ever expected something like this. I'm obviously really proud."

The Manchester United keeper's name will be a permanent fixture on the side of the tram.

It is one of 37 in the city that are named after local figures including two-time Olympic champion Rebecca Adlington.

After an incredible 2023, it is unlikely that Earps, who can't stop stopping goals, will stop with the amazing achievements next year.
