Jersey transport minister to get car park question
Jersey's transport minister will be asked to explain why plans for a car park extension have been abandoned.
St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft wants the minister to explain why a police station is to be built on the site instead.
He will ask Deputy Kevin Lewis why the proposed extra car parking spaces are being sacrificed for the new police HQ.
Plans to move the station to the open area of Green Street car park were announced in November.
In November 2011 Treasury Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf suggested the open section of Green Street car park was the "most suitable" location for the police headquarters.
He said it would meet the current budget and allow part of the current police station at Rouge Bouillon to be sold for housing.
Constable Crowcroft will ask the question in the States of Jersey sitting on Tuesday.
