Jersey end of life home care project trialed
A trial project has been set up in Jersey for people to get care in their own homes at the end of their lives.
Family Nursing and 91热爆 Care has received funding to extend its service beyond the daytime hours.
The number of over-65s is expected to double by 2040, putting more pressure on hospitals and care homes.
Family Nursing CEO Pam Massey said district nurses were now able to support and care for people overnight.
She said the service had been desperately needed to support an ageing population but that she would need to take on more staff in the future.
"We will need more staff particularly with the rising age population, as people live longer the possibility of them getting a long term condition increases," said Ms Massey.
