About 75% of Jersey census forms returned

About 75% of census forms have been returned so far, with more coming in according to the States of Jersey.

Islanders were asked to fill in the first census questionnaire in 10 years on Sunday.

The information from the census is used to plan services such as transportation, education and health.

It is a requirement to fill in and return the form and the States have sent reminder postcards to people who have not done it yet.

The Head of Jersey's Statistics Unit, Duncan Gibaut, said they had had a brilliant response, with 32,000 forms returned.

But he asked people who had not done it to bring or send the forms back to help control the costs of the census.
