Jersey tourist bus route to be scrapped
A tourist bus that covers more Jersey holiday attractions than any other route could be scrapped under plans to change the summer timetable.
Under proposed timetable changes, the Yellow Explorer could be replaced by a new service.
Among the attractions visited on the yellow route were the aMaizin! Adventure Park, La Mare Vineyard and the Durrell Wildlife park.
The 26 bus will now follow the old Yellow route to St Mary's Village.
The bus will then travel to town via Carrefour Selous, St John's Village, La Hogue Bie, Durrell and St Saviour's Parish Hall.
The number 26 will be a trial service, starting on the 11 March 2011.
Assistant transport minister Deputy Kevin Lewis said the new service was a great improvement to the bus timetable.
He said: "Everything will be completely covered either by the explorer or by the traditional service."
