Jersey government approve 73 redundancies
The States of Jersey have approved 73 applications for voluntary redundancy from public service employees.
All public sector workers employed by the Government were given the chance to consider leaving their posts.
The States employment board and the treasury department has released the funding for the redundancies following the launch of the scheme in August.
There were 280 applications for redundancy from States employees as part of the civil service wide scheme.
The scheme's aim was to help departments to save money, review their services and rethink the way they operate.
The 73 redundancies include 30 senior managers and is part of the spending reviews target of finding 拢65m worth of savings by 2013.
