Free GP vaccination appointments for children in Jersey
Parents taking their children to the doctor for childhood vaccinations in Jersey will not have to pay.
The move has been made as the child health clinic no longer offer immunisations.
At the moment parents can choose between a free appointment at the child health clinic or pay for an appointment at their GP surgery.
All visits for baby immunisations and those at three years old will be at surgeries from January.
The health and social services department said there have been long waiting lists for the clinic.
Dr Mark Jones, a paediatric consultant, says the toddler age group has been particularly affected.
He said there has been confusion with some children "slipping through the net".
Dr Jones said that often their GP thought they were being immunized at the clinic whilst parents had been notified of appointments at their GP practice.
