Guernsey's first public planning meeting to be held
Plans for new flats are to be discussed at Guernsey's first open planning meeting.
The proposals are for a four-storey development of 10 flats in St Peter Port's Coupee Lane.
The Environment Department said the open meeting was to make the planning process more transparent and accountable.
In 2008 an external review concluded that Guernsey's planning process needed to become more open to the public.
Deputy Peter Sirett, minister for the Environment Department, said: "Planning is an important area of very real public interest and we believe that it is important that our work is as transparent and accountable as possible.
"The introduction of open planning meetings is simply opening the door to discussions that were previously confidential."
The meeting will take place on 29 March at 0900 BST at Beau Sejour.
