Ex-Flintshire council leader granted costs for tribunal
Flintshire councillors have allowed a former leader to claim council money towards legal costs as he fights bullying allegations.
Patrick Heesom, group leader of the New Independents, is being investigated by the Public Service Ombudsman for Wales over claims he bullied the council's former head of housing.
He will be allowed to claim up to 拢225 per hour towards the costs.
Councillors had earlier decided not to grant the indemnity.
However, the decision was later reversed following "receipt of independent legal advice".
Cllr Heesom applied for financial help under the council's indemnity policy.
He has always denied any allegations against him.
