Ammanford explosion: Man in hospital after Tycroes blast
A man has been taken to hospital and his house was left with "structural damage" after a gas canister exploded.
Firefighters were called to Derlin Park in Tycroes, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, at about 17:20 GMT on Wednesday.
Wales and West Utilities said a gas canister exploded and the blast was not linked to the mains network.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said three crews were sent to the scene and the incident has now been declared over.
A Wales and West Utilities spokesman said: "On arrival, we found that there had been structural damage to the property and the emergency services were in control of the scene.
"We worked with the emergency services to make the area safe and carried out all necessary gas safety checks - no gas leaks have been detected on the gas mains in the local area."
It said the cause of the blast was being investigated by the emergency services, but that it was "not related to the mains gas network".
