Marion Hodge: Man given indictment over death of woman last seen in 1984
A 78-year-old man has been served with an indictment in connection with the death of a woman who disappeared nearly 40 years ago.
Marion Hodge, from Lockerbie, was last reported to have been seen in Dumfries in the summer of 1984.
She was declared legally dead by the Court of Session in Edinburgh in 1992 and her body has never been found.
A police statement said that papers had now been served on a man in connection with her death.
An investigation into Ms Hodge's disappearance - when she was aged 34 - was relaunched last year.
Det Insp Angela Barr said: "A number of people have contacted police to provide information following our re-appeal from February 2022.
"I would like to thank them for their assistance, along with all those who have helped with the investigation so far."
