Two children in hospital after crash on Duncow to Kirkton road
Two children are in hospital after a crash on a rural road near Dumfries.
Police were called to the two-vehicle accident on the C11n between Kirkton and Duncow at about 09:10 on Wednesday.
A four-year-old boy who was travelling in a black Audi A6 was airlifted to hospital in Glasgow where he remains in a serious condition.
A girl aged two and a 35-year-old woman in the same car, and a 52-year-old man driving a black BMW were taken to Dumfries Infirmary.
Their condition has been described as stable.
The road was closed for several hours to allow officers to conduct inquiries at the scene but it has since reopened.
PC Callum Kingstree said: "An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the collision and I would appeal to any motorists in that area with any information they may have.
"If anyone has any dashcam footage, please pass it on as it could assist our inquiries".
