Wood Group PSN wins 拢40m North Sea contract extension
Energy services provider Wood Group PSN has secured a 拢40m contract extension for one of its longest running projects in the North Sea.
The Aberdeen-based firm said it had signed a one-year deal with ConocoPhillips to continue providing a range of services for offshore assets in the Southern and Central North Sea.
It will also continue work at an onshore gas terminal in Lincolnshire.
The project includes operations and maintenance services.
The contract will be supported by 150 onshore and 280 offshore people in the UK.
Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) said the complex project was spread across 50 staffed and unstaffed facilities in the North Sea.
'Key contract'
ConocoPhillips first awarded WGPSN the contract in 1992.
WGPSN UK managing director Dave Stewart said: "The ConocoPhillips project is a key contract in our UK portfolio and we are pleased to receive this extension and further enhance our reputation with a major international company."
The award is the latest in a series of North Sea contract extensions chalked up by WGPSN in 2013. They include projects involving CNR, Total, Teekey and Ithaca Energy.
In the UK, Wood Group now employs more than 11,000 people working onshore and offshore.
