Coastguard search for bodyboarder in Fraserburgh was false alarm
A search for a bodyboarder believed to be difficulty in the sea at Fraserburgh was a false alarm, HM Coastguard says.
Police Scotland and the RNLI were also called to the Aberdeenshire port, with an oil and gas industry helicopter deployed to aid rescue teams.
HM Coastguard said it had co-ordinated a search which was ended at 21:15.
A spokesperson said: "HM Coastguard is satisfied that there is no information to say anybody is missing and nobody has been reported missing either."
It comes after large areas of Scotland were battered by high winds, rain and snow after Storm Gerrit hit on Wednesday.
