Woman, 24, dies at scene of two-vehicle crash in Kilmarnock

A 24-year-old woman has died and two others have been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in East Ayrshire.

The collision, which involved a Vauxhall Corsa and an Audi Q2, happened at about 09:35 on the B7038 Ayr Road, Kilmarnock.

The 24-year-old driver of the Corsa was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Audi driver, 67, and her passenger, 64, were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Sgt Martin Cunningham said his thoughts were with the family and friends of the woman who died.
