M8 reopens westbound following lorry fire in Lanarkshire
A section of the M8 in Lanarkshire has reopened after an earlier lorry fire.
The motorway, which connects Edinburgh and Glasgow, had been closed westbound between J5 Harthill and J6 Newhouse.
Alternative routes through Lanarkshire were extremely busy while the closure was in place to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.
Traffic Scotland said the road fully reopened just after 13:00 but reported queues going back to Heartlands in West Lothian.
