Detectives arrest man over Edinburgh hospital slashing
A man has been arrested and charged over an alleged slashing at a hospital.
Police Scotland said officers were called to reports of a serious assault at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital on Tipperlinn Road.
Officers said a 30-year-old man needed treatment after the incident, which happened at about 18:25 on Friday.
A force spokeswoman said: "A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident."
The suspect is expected to appear before Edinburgh Sherriff Court on Monday.
According to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital provides acute psychiatric and mental health services, including treatment for learning disabilities and dementia.
It also has centres for the treatment of eating disorders, alcohol problems and young people's mental health.
