Hollywood stars have been taking to the fairways at Scotland's finest golf courses as they prepare for the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

The pro-am tournament tees off on Thursday with some stellar names from the world of golf and entertainment.

Celebrities signed up for the competition include actors Bill Murray, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Andy Garcia.

Musicians Tico Torres, Huey Lewis, Keane's Tom Chaplin, Linkin Park's Dave Farrell and Mike Rutherford of Genesis will also take part with names such as Piers Morgan and footballer Gareth Bale.

Some of the players were spotted practising on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Scotland's Bob MacIntyre, part of the European team who won the Ryder Cup in Rome, is hoping to be the first Scottish winner since 2005.

He will be reunited with members of Team Europe as they play at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.

A 54-hole cut takes place after 168 pros and 168 amateurs play each venue, with the final round taking place at The Old Course.
