Downpatrick: Residents return home after gas leak
Residents have been allowed to return home after emergency services dealt with a gas leak in Downpatrick on Tuesday evening.
A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesman said a smell of gas was reported at about 20:46 GMT.
English Street, which was closed during the operation, has since reopened.
Police said residents had to leave for a number of hours to allow for safety checks and returned just before midnight.
