Caoimhe Morgan : Man given life sentence for woman's murder
A Belfast man has been handed an automatic life sentence after he admitted the murder of mother-of-four Caoimhe Morgan.
The 30-year-old's body was found in her Harcourt Drive home in north Belfast in December 2021.
Taylor George McIlvenna, from Highvale Gardens in the city, appeared at Belfast Crown Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty.
At previous court hearings the 32-year-old had denied murdering her.
The judge handed McIlvenna a life sentence and said he would set the minimum number of years he would have to serve in prison before he was considered eligible for parole at a later date.
Two additional charges of child cruelty on 18 December 2021 were left on the books and were not proceeded with by the Crown.
McIlvenna was remanded back into custody.
