Ballymena: Two women injured after sign falls at business

Two women were injured after it was reported that a large sign had fallen at a business premises in Ballymena.

It is understood it happened outside Caff猫 Nero at Fairhill Shopping Centre just after 17:05 BST on Wednesday.

A Caff猫 Nero spokesman said the firm's "thoughts and sincere best wishes are with our customers impacted".

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said it was investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse of signage in Fairhill Lane.

It said its officers are liaising Mid and East Antrim Borough Council's environmental health department.

Two ambulance crews were sent to the scene on Wednesday evening, along with PSNI officers.

Both women were taken to hospital - one was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and the other to Antrim Area Hospital.

In a statement to 91热爆 News NI, Caff猫 Nero's spokesman said the firm offered the injured customers "our full support".

"We are fully involved and participating in the investigation and are committed to ensuring the ongoing safety of the store, staff and customers," he added.
