Antrim murder: Investigation after man's body is found
Police have started a murder investigation after a man's body was found in Antrim.
Neighbours raised the alarm at about 09:00 GMT on Thursday after finding the body at a house in the Craighill area.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested. A large cordon is in place in the area and forensic officers have been to the scene.
Detectives said the investigation was "at an early stage and there are no further details at present".
Local Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) councillor Paul Dunlop said the community in Craighill was "numb and shocked" following the murder.
"There's a sense of shock, there's a sense of quietness," he said.
"People just don't know what to think of it."
SDLP councillor Roisin Lynch said her thoughts were with the man's family and friends.
She said the discovery of the body was "very concerning" and encouraged anyone with information to contact police.
