M6 near Stafford shuts for hours after fatal lorry crash

The M6 southbound was shut for nearly four hours after a fatal crash involving a lorry.

The road between junctions 13 and 14 at Stafford was closed after the crash which happened at about 12:30 BST.

A man involved in the crash was confirmed dead half an hour later.

The crash led to long delays with queues stretching back to junction 16 but the road was reopened shortly before 16:00 BST. Officers urged witnesses to the crash to contact them.
