A man has been arrested after a pedestrian suffered serious injuries when hit by a car.
The vehicle was left on its roof after the collision at the Trefonen Road junction with Old Mapsis Way in Morda on Friday morning.
The pedestrian, a woman, was airlifted to hospital with what were described as life-changing injuries.
Police said a man, 25, had been arrested on suspicion of causing injury through dangerous driving.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 06:58 GMT and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the incident had involved a hatchback car.
Despite the car ending up on its roof the driver was not trapped, firefighters said and paramedics discharged him at the scene.
"On arrival, ambulance staff discovered a car that had overturned and the pedestrian, a woman, who had suffered serious injuries in the incident," West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
"They immediately began administering emergency care at the scene before airlifting the patient to Royal Stoke University Hospital."
The road was closed for several hours for the police to investigate but has since reopened.
