Oxford: Major search for man reported to have entered river
A major search has been launched after a man was reported to have gone into the River Thames.
Police said the white man, in his 60s and wearing a flat cap, was thought to have entered the water at Osney Mead, Oxford, at about 13:20 BST.
Emergency workers in dinghies searched the river while helicopters circled overhead, the said.
No trace of the man has been found, police added.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it sent four engines and a rescue boat to the scene. South Central Ambulance Service workers also attended.
