Beeston: Man arrested after three-year-old boy hit by car
A 79-year-old man has been arrested after a three-year-old boy was hit by a car in Nottinghamshire.
Emergency services were called to Foster Avenue in Beeston at about 09:25 GMT on Tuesday after the boy became trapped under the car.
The child was freed by police officers and taken to hospital. The man was arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention.
The toddler will remain in hospital overnight but is not seriously hurt.
The arrested man remains in custody. A police cordon at the scene has now been lifted.
A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Police urged anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage to come forward.
Police said the boy's family had endured "an extremely upsetting ordeal" and requested their privacy be respected.
