Lee Hughes fined for assaulting woman in Croydon hotel
Notts County striker Lee Hughes has been fined for assaulting a woman at a hotel in south London.
He admitted a charge of common assault over an attack at the Aerodrome Hotel in Purley Way, Croydon, on 3 December.
A second charge of sexual assault, which Hughes denied, was dropped after prosecution lawyers at Croydon Crown Court offered no evidence.
Hughes, 36, of Waterside Way, Nottingham, was fined 拢500 and ordered to pay 拢120 in prosecution costs.
He was arrested after police were called to the hotel the night before his team's FA Cup match against Sutton United.
