Twitter racism gets Norwich City football fan banned
Norwich City Football Club has banned a fan from Carrow Road after they posted a racist remark on the internet.
The club followed up reports that comments were made about the Canaries new signing James Vaughan, from Everton, on the social networking website Twitter on 27 May.
After an investigation the club stopped the fan from coming to the ground for life. The post has been removed.
David McNally, club chief executive, said no form of racism is tolerated.
He said: "It's a shame as we are a family club.
"We were made aware of an alleged racist comment via Twitter and we had to investigate.
"We have a zero tolerance approach to racism and those comments are not acceptable.
"Being inclusive is part of the club's DNA, we are open to all and we just won't allow discrimination of any kind."
