Richmond: Elderly man dies in house fire
An elderly man has died in a house fire in south-west London.
Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters were called on Monday evening to the blaze in a three-storey house in Onslow Road, Richmond.
London Fire Brigade said a man was found in the home and he died at the scene.
The brigade said the fire, which began at at 20:08 GMT, was under control two hours later. Part of the ground floor was damaged, it said.
The Metropolitan Police said some people were evacuated from neighbouring homes as a precaution but the cause of the fire was currently unknown.
Firefighters from Richmond, Kingston and Twickenham fire stations attended the incident and police remain on scene.
The fire is under investigation by both the fire service and the Met Police.
