Big rise in demand for food banks in Cornwall
Foodbanks in Cornwall are seeing a big rise in the number of people using them, organisers have said.
The Camborne, Pool and Redruth (CPR) Foodbank said it had provided 33 families with food in one morning in August.
About six months ago fewer than 10 families needed food, organisers said.
Don Gardner, from CPR. Foodbank, said "demand has exceeded supply. It's horrendous at the moment".
He is appealing for people to donate food.
Mr Gardner said people were coming to the foodbank because of money problems.
"One person had not eaten for eight days", he said.
Truro Foodbank, also said its service had been in great demand over the past few weeks.
