Perranporth beach dog restrictions approved by council
A Cornish parish council has voted to introduce daytime restrictions for dogs on a beach next summer.
Perranzabuloe Parish Council voted for dogs on Perranporth beach to be kept on leads between 1000 BST and 1700 BST every day next July and August.
However, there was to be a public consultation first, the council said.
Councillors will set up a group, including local business people, to carry out a detailed study of the impact of dogs on the beach.
The council said it began considering the ban after it received a number of complaints about dogs.
Concerns were raised about the unruly nature of some pets and mess left behind on the beach.
